Reward offered for information about tragic hit-and-run in Longview
The motorist that struck 29-year-old Tracey Turk fled the scene without stopping.
LONGVIEW On November 14, 2010 at approximately 7 p.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Green Street for a report of an auto-pedestrian accident.
Officers arrived and found that 29-year-old Tracey Turk of Kilgore had been struck by a car while crossing South Green Street on foot. Longview Fire/EMS transported Turk to Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced dead by Gregg County Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort.
Investigators discovered that Turk had been crossing the street walking eastbound when she was struck by the vehicle. Turk did not cross at a crosswalk or yield to vehicles on South Green when she was struck. The motorist that struck Turk fled the scene without stopping. Traffic investigators believe the vehicle that struck Turk was bronze or tan in color and had damage to the front end as a result of the crash.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236-STOP or online at www.greggcountycrimestoppers.com. A reward of up to $1000 may be paid for information leading to the arrest of the driver.
