Glass Center to host Hip Hop Dance Camp

Campers will learn dance forms that incorporate break dancing, hip-hop dance and theatrical Broadway-style dance.

TYLER — Fly Kids, Inc. will host a hip-hop dance camp Monday, August 13 through Friday, August 17 at the Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd Street. The camp is for 8 to 18-year-olds. They will be instructed by professional teachers from the touring hip-hop Fly Dance Company.

The camp will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunches, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the center. Water will be provided. The cost is $95 per student, or $75 each for two or more students.

Campers will learn dance forms that incorporate break dancing, hip-hop dance and theatrical Broadway-style dance. The leader of Fly Dance Company, Kathy Wood, will instruct campers. As a professional dance instructor and choreographer, Ms. Wood has trained many dancers who have gone on to tour with dance companies from around the world.
