— The City of Tyler is proposing to cut the Tyler Museum of Art out of their 2012-2013 budget.

However, the budget is not final, and there will be a public hearing regarding the budget on August 22 at 9 a.m. at Tyler City Hall.

The museum has urged citizens to show support for the Museum and speak at the upcoming public hearing on the museum's behalf. "As the only art museum in the city, it is important that the City of Tyler is behind us. Our wonderful city deserves a wonderful art museum," said a museum spokesman.
