Free refresher courses offered to college bound students
The program is specifically aimed at new students who have tested into developmental courses.
Kilgore College is looking for students to enroll in its annual Summer Bridge Program beginning July 23.
The program, called the “Preparatory Academy for College Excellence,” is a free way for students to refresh skills in English, reading, writing or math in hopes of eliminating developmental coursework.
The course will be taught by KC instructors and will meet Mondays through Thursdays from July 23 through Aug. 10.
The program is specifically aimed at new students who have tested into developmental courses at the 0306 or 0308 level in reading, writing or math.
At the end of the program, students will re-take the Accuplacer test for free on Aug. 10.
To enroll, or for more information, contact math instructor Mariann Baker at 903-983-8645 or e-mail: mbaker@kilgore.edu; or call English instructor Becky Johnson at 903-983-8223 or e-mail: rjohnson@kilgore.edu.
