Cast of “Hunchback of Notre Dame” announced

— ArtsView Children’s Theatre is recreating the adventures of the tender-hearted bell ringer, Quasimodo, from Victor Hugo’s classic novel in their upcoming summer production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This thrilling comedy will come to life on stage Thursday through Sunday, July 12-15, 2012.

“The unforgettable characters from the beloved novel come to laugh-happy life in this funny and frill-free “festival” adaptation of Victor Hugo’s popular literary classic. Outside the great Notre Dame cathedral, 50 years after the original story’s fateful events, a troupe of youthful players leads the rabble of Paris — and sometimes even the audience — in recreating the riotous adventures of the misshapen bell ringer, Quasimodo.” (Pioneer Drama Service)

This summer’s all-youth show will feature performers 10-18 years of age from Longview and other Texas towns. New to the ArtsView stage are Dustin Kincaide and Emma Shea Bridges, both from Longview. Also from Longview are ArtsView veterans Hannah Webber, Caroline Bump, Adrian Hernandez, Rachel Webber, Jonah Lummus, and Tanner O’Neal. Other veteran cast members from out of town include Judah Armour from Kilgore, Molly Jasper from Gladewater, and Sami Minchew from Hallsville, along with Sarah Lorenz and Mileah Lorenz from Houston. Ensemble members include Lexie Jones, Marti Ann Moreland, Christian Funderburk, Elijah Bump, Luis Vazquez, Katie Lummus, and Azriel Picher, all from Longview, as well as Paige Bagley from White Oak, Zac Poorman from Diana, and Rhett Goldman from Carthage.
