Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials

The T-Bone Walker Blues Festival announced today that Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials have been engaged as the headline act for the festival's Friday night indoor performance at the Music City Texas Hall in Linden on June 22. The change in the program was made necessary by the recent untimely death of bluesman Michael Burks. Burks died May 6 in Atlanta, Ga.

Lil’ Ed Williams and his blistering, road-tested band, The Blues Imperials have been rocking venues across the country with authentic electric slide-guitar blues in the Chicago style for more than 20 years.

According the the website Intrepid Artists International, Lil’ Ed boasts a direct bloodline to blues history—his uncle and musical mentor was the great Chicago slide guitarist, songwriter and recording artist J.B. Hutto. According to The Chicago Tribune, “Williams represents one of the few remaining authentic links to the raucous, pure Chicago blues.”

Lil' Ed will also headline the Saturday night outdoor stage performances.
