Students named ‘Distinguished Musicians’
Three local students included in the select group.
Four Kilgore College music majors were recognized as “Distinguished Musicians”: First row, left to right: Hou Si Wong (piano) of Macau, China; and Matthew Jackson (percussion) of Longview; Second row, left to right; James Thomas (clarinet) of Gladewater; and Matthew Sullivan (voice) of Gilmer.
KILGORE Four Kilgore College music majors were recognized as “Distinguished Musicians” by the KC music faculty May 4 as a part of the college’s annual music honors convocation.
The four students recognized were freshman James Thomas (clarinet) of Gladewater; freshman Matthew Sullivan (voice) of Gilmer; sophomore Hou Si Wong (piano) of Macau, China; and freshman Matthew Jackson (percussion) of Longview.
They were selected based on all of the music majors’ performances at student recitals.
