An ART Party event at the Visual Art Center

"Novice artists and the artistically challenged will have a good time and be amazed at what they accomplish in just a few hours."

— Having heard about Susan Pool's ART Party events for quite a while now, I finally had the opportunity to attend on this past Sunday at the Marshall Visual Art Center.

Pool has developed a system that allows students with no prior art experience to produce a painting that they can be proud to display to friends and family. Her method uses a grid mapping technique, a limited color pallet, and step-by-step guidance to ease her students toward realizing their artistic goals. Grid scaling allows the aspiring painters to handle scale and perspective, concepts that Pool says are often major challenges for beginners.

Her company, "The ART Event" conduct mobile art party entertainment events at both public and private venues.

Pool and her staff bring a complete art studio set-up to the location, then guide the painters through the creation of their individual "masterpieces." Pool says "Novice artists and the artistically challenged will have a good time and be amazed at what they accomplish in just a few hours."
