Longview Book Club to discuss Major Pettigrew in September
The club meetings feature lively discussion and laughter.
LONGVIEW The Longview Ladies Book Club has chosen to read and discuss Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, a novel by Helen Simonson for their September 27 meeting at the Longview Public Library.
The club reads everything from fiction to non-fiction, old classics to newer best sellers and everything in between. Guests can show up for the meetings whether or not they have read or finished the book. But of course, it's way more fun if you can participate in the discussion!
The September book, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, made Oprah's Top 10 List in 2012.
The very informal Ladies Book Club typically meets the 4th Thursday of every month at the Library. The club members take turns recommending books and then vote on which book to read for the following month.
Meetings begin at 6:30 PM. The book club is free and open to everyone and others are encouraged to join for an evening of lively discussion and laughter.
For more information on the book club, call Joyce at 903-261-3061 or email Chris at challengerop@gmail.com
