— The much-anticipated exhibition, The Wyeths Across Texas, opened at the Tyler Museum of Art on September 7 with great success. Members and visitors from all across Texas came out opening week to share their interest and love for Wyeth art. Victoria Wyeth, representing the Wyeth dynasty, entertained and shared her enthusiasm with guests throughout the opening weekend.

"I see the Wyeth show along the trajectory, at a culminating point, that we've set for exhibitions organized by this museum," stated Ken Tomio. "The three Wyeth artists, N.C., Andrew, and Jamie, are the three successive generations of the same family, each attaining national and international prominence."

There are other events scheduled throughout the exhibition including Family Days, First Friday Art Tours, lectures and many others. Look at upcoming special events and information related to the exhibition on our website. If you have not had a chance to stop and see The Wyeths Across Texas, it will be on view through December 9, 2012.

The Tyler Museum of Art is on its steady course to providing excellent exhibitions and programs to the greater East Texas area and the state as a whole. In its ninth year, the community's favorite exhibition showcasing students' works from surrounding high schools will open on January 5, 2013. The 9th Annual High School Art Exhibition will be on view through January 20, 2013. Following, Texas Impressionism-Branding with Brushstroke and Color, featuring Texas Impressionist works from 1885 to 1935, opens February 8 and will be on view through May 26, 2013.
