Beethoven Spectacular to open ETSO season


Season tickets also are still available. You may subscribe to all five concerts for as little as $36.

— The East Texas Symphony Orchestra opens its 2012-2013 Season Saturday night, September 22, 7:30 pm, at the UT Tyler Cowan Center, with an all-Beethoven concert. New ETSO Music Director Richard Lee will lead the orchestra in three works by the composer. The concert opens with "The Consecration of the House" Overture. Then pianist Winston Choi joins the orchestra for the sublime Piano Concerto No. 4. Closing the concert is the triumphant Beethoven Symphony No. 3, "Eroica."

This concert is sponsored in part by Joyce Buford, through the Joyce Buford Donor Advised Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation. Support for Winston Choi's appearance comes from Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cushman and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Featherston.

Single tickets are on sale now through the Cowan Center Box Office, 903.566.7424, or online. Prices start at $10. Tickets also will be on sale at the door Saturday night. The box office opens at 6:15 pm.
