2/5ABSOLUTELY the worst management experience EVER!!!! The FOH manager actually argued with us about our plate/ticket/service!!!! Complete JERK
We've been to Fat Catz many times over the last few years. Most of those experiences were fine, my husband loves sea food and Cajun food. We've had everything from craw fish to oysters to stuffed salmon.
Our last experience this past Saturday night was TERRIBLE! There were 4 couples at our table. All the guys had beer and each couple had an appetizer. One girl ordered a margarita on the rocks - it was terrible...and even the second was so bad that she just said never mind! The waiter never offered to tell us about the specials...and seemed quite scattered. My husband and the guy beside him ordered the stuffed salmon plate (its not on the menu). My husband's plate came out with the rest of our food, the other guy's was a few minutes after - but that was perfectly fine considering his plate was warm and obviously cooked.
My husband's first comment was, "This shrimp doesn't look cooked". The shrimp is part of the stuffing and sauce that is over the salmon. So he pushed those to the side and started eating. After eating about halfway into the salmon fillet, it became apparent that it wasn't completely done - so he went to the other end and ate the part that was done. When the manger came over to address the twice refused margarita we pointed out that the fillet wasn't completely cooked. His first words were, "where is the rest of it?" To which we answered that the rest of it had been fully cooked and was eaten up to the point of being uncooked. One of the guys at the table chimes in and says, "we're not looking for a free meal or anything!" The manager said he would take the plate and show his cook. AT THIS POINT, most managers would say something to the effect of, "no, this wasn't cooked properly I'll take care of it on your ticket, free desert, something....." NOPE, actually he never returned!
So when we received our bills, and ours had everything full price and even included gratuity, I asked for the manager. 5 minutes later he comes from the kitchen dabbing his mouth with a napkin, apparently we'd interrupted him. He comes to the table with an attitude and asks if there is a problem - really?? Now, my husband has a very heavy and loud voice, it carries... and when the manager approached our table with an attitude, it wasn't well received - so I do not excuse my husband's language....BUT his tone and his message was completely on point. I have NEVER heard, seen or been party to a person in any customer service industry, ESPECIALLY at the management level be sarcastic and argue with a customer!!
I can assure you that we will not be visiting Fat Catz again... and the same person/company owns ZaZa's in Tyler also, so I doubt we'll go there either. If we need craw fish, we'll just get it directly from Big Sandy, that's where the ones at Fat Catz come from anyway!!
