Spirits of Oakwood Historical Cemetery Walk
I walked among the graves, as I always visit this grave of a young woman who died in her 20's in 1880's, with a beautiful statute of a woman. Inscriptions on her gravestone is "A Perfect Woman" just next to the Bonner plots. But I was very disappointed to see the McClendon woman's gravestone destroyed. Last time I visited it was last year it was still standing and I saw how weak it was. I mailed to the President and the club of the McClendon house which was built on her account by her loving husband. No reply. Nothing. Now it's broken apart, and I know what caused it.... Careless spanish lawn cutters. I visited some other graves near Ellen's grave and I saw how some which had rectangle sized borders were broken and scattered.... I knew it was the lawncutters. I have seen how careless they are, working only for money interests instead of being CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very enraged at how the graves are being treated. How would YOU feel if it happened to YOUR OWN gravestone which was made to honor your memory?? It's a DISGRACE... what I've seen in the beautifully organized cemetery.
